JAIL MINISTRY & HOSPITAL VISITATION

Jail ministry is a vital part of reaching out to the community in which we live as a church body. Having been in jail and prison myself (Pastor Kyle), I understand how richly it blesses the hearts of individuals on the inside who's only visit may very well be the volunteer that comes once a week for Bible study. I've been in the court room hoping for mercy from the judge. Society at large looks down on those incarcerated. We understand that justice has been served as deemed appropriate by the judge. However, what these individuals need more than anything is the mercy and grace of God.

We currently volunteer with Hope Aglow Prison Ministry, at the local juvenile detention center in Lynchburg to share the love, grace, and mercy of God with those on the inside. Once a week we are able to go in and share the word, pray, and fellowship with our youth in detention. It is our mission to simply be a light of forgiveness and hope to those who may feel there is no hope.

Hospital Visitation is another vital part of reaching out to the community. It has been said that studies show people who know someone is praying for them or with them, or is just simply there for them, often respond to their treatment much better.

Hospitalization is a very hard time for any family, and it's not always possible for family to be with the individual at all times.

We endeavor to fill that gap, by going to visit with the family and friends of those in our church who are in the hospital, and any who specifically request us. We also pray with the individual if they desire us to.

We also reach out to the family of the person who is hospitalized by visiting them at home and spending time with them.
